Demonstrable high uptime
Over the past few years the Triogen ORC has demonstrated its high uptime in a multitude of different applications, with up to 98% operational hours.
Performance: highest efficiency and power output in its range
The Triogen ORC has the highest efficiency and power output in its heat input range. One of the reasons for this is that the Triogen ORC does not use an intermediate loop. This means that the working fluid is heated directly by the exhaust gasses, instead of an additional loop.
Operates fully automatically without supervision
The ORC operates fully automatically without any supervision. When there is heat available the installation will start, and when there is no or a limited amount of heat available, it will stop automatically. When the heat supply is increased to the required minimum levels the ORC will restart automatically.
Adapt to variation
In addition to starting and stopping automatically, during normal operation the Triogen ORC is capable of adapting automatically to changes in thermal input so that the efficiency of transforming the heat into electricity is optimal.
Easy integration into existing plant
After installation, the ORC will not interfere with your business process at all. During the installation your heat source (engine, flare, etc.) will have to be connected to the ORC, which may interfere with your business process for a limited number of hours.
Aside from this, the size of the ORC is dimensioned to fit into a standard container so that it can easily be fitted into your plant location.
Suitable for modular installation
If the available heat exceeds that which is required by a single ORC, multiple units are the solution. This maximizes efficiency and electrical power output, especially in plants with multiple sources that do not operate at full capacity all year round.
Adopting a modular solution, with several small ORC units instead of a large power unit, allows for:
Higher coolant temperatures - The Triogen VARIO can produce a coolant of up to 90 °C
Aside from the electricity produced, the Triogen ORC’s residual product is hot cooling water. The heat available in the coolant can be used for:
Drying
Wood, manure, etc.
Heating
Buildings, water purification plants, swimming pools, etc.
Using the heat in the cooling water could increase the total system efficiency up to 90%.
Under normal operational circumstances the Triogen ORC produces coolant of up to 55 °C. In certain situations it might be beneficial to use cooling water at a temperature above 55 °C. When required, the Triogen VARIO can increase the coolant temperature discharged by the ORC up to 90 °C.
